Outfit of the Day: July 23

I love putting simple pieces together and adding a bit of flare to take an outfit to the next level. It looks so effortless. My outfit for July 23rd was no different.

Top: This is actually a DIY top. It was originally a long sleeve button up I bought from Old Navy back in 2008. I have not worn this top in years and decided to cut off the sleeve to make it wearable for summer. Another way I wear this top is by unbuttoning the bottom two buttons and tying the bottom material in a knot. The top ends up looking like a cropped shirt.
*I may do a video tutorial on this DIY. Stay tuned!

Bottom: My bottoms are jean shorts from Forever 21 that I bought last year. I can't remember the price. I do not believe the shorts were more than $29.

Shoes: The leopard print shoes is what makes this outfit! They are one of my favorites. The shoes are actually desert boots made by Matiko. I bought the boots last year in October. I can't remember the exact price but I believe they were between $125-$150. What I love about these desert boots is that they have a hidden two inch heel inside to give me a little height.

Hair

I am not a hair girl. I am horrible when it comes to doing hair. I normally have someone else do it or get a hair style that does not require a lot of my time and/or maintenance. I decided to do something a little different since my hair was semi straight. I left my hair dry and twisted my hair into large two strand twists. After, I put the twists in flexi-rods. I was pressed for time and only left the rods in for about 30 minutes. I took the twists out and this was the end result.

I think my hair came out okay but I was not that impressed. I think if I give my hair more time in the flexi-rods and allow myself more time to fluff my hair, I will end up liking it.

What do you think about my outfit? Do you have any suggestions for my hair? I would love to hear from you :-)

Love,

Resee

  1. I love those leopard skin pair of boots, they look so classy and stylish. I think I am going to buy a size 7 pair for my girlfriend for Christmas.
